In fact group interventions offer some unique benefits, such as shared support and connections with others. Check out some of the groups we are offering at NL Health Services. These groups are facilitated by skilled mental health clinicians in our province.
This group is for adults (ages 18+) who are experiencing symptoms of depression. This 10 week group draws upon Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to understand and treat symptoms of depression. This group explores the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and addresses each component of this interaction with skills and tools that are helpful in supporting recovery. It also looks at triggers and causes of depression and how to address these factors. This group is for people who are actively seeking to engage in the recovery process, and are willing to try to practice the skills taught in the group setting.

This group is a safe space for all to connect and gain tools to improve their mental health.
Participants in this group will be required to do weekly practice, and regular attendance is required.

This time-limited psychoeducation class is designed to help participants develop ways to cope with chronic pain and the difficult emotions, losses and social challenges that arise from its experience. Participants will be introduced to the concept of mindfulness and other evidence-based skills. Mindfulness is a skill in which benefit comes from practice. Signing up for this class means committing to practice daily for 8 weeks in order to experience benefit. Please note -This group is not long-term psychology support and not a substitute for other ongoing treatments and care.
