  • DBT Skills Group

    This group is for adults (ages 18+) who are experiencing difficulty in managing intense emotions, difficulties in their relationships, and overall struggles in day-to-day life. Over the course of this 12 week group participants will have the opportunity to learn and practice the skills of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which has been shown to be effective in addressing many mental health issues. This group is a safe space for all to connect and gain tools to improve their mental health.

    Participants in this group will be required to do weekly practice, and regular attendance is required.

    The DBT Skills Group will be offered on Tuesday’s starting February 4, 2025 to April 22, 2025 from 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm island time (1:00 pm – 3:30 pm Labrador).     Bereavement Education Session

    This provincial virtual education session is for adults (ages 18+) who are experiencing grief due to death. These sessions will provide information on understanding grief, guide you through the grieving process, and give suggestions on what you can do to help yourself and others during this time of grief. The session will include a presentation, videos and opportunity for discussion or to ask questions about grief. These sessions are free and open to the general public.
    The monthly schedule is as follows:
    Tuesday, February 11th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)
    Tuesday, March 11th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)
    Tuesday, April 8th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)
    Tuesday, May 13th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)
    Tuesday, June 10th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)
    Tuesday, July 8th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)
    Tuesday, August 12th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)
    Tuesday, September 9th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)
    Tuesday, October 14th, 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00pm-7:30pm Labrador)

    These virtual education sessions will be offered the second Tuesday of each month and will be held from 6:30pm-8:00pm island time (6:00 pm – 7:30 pm Labrador). Please email griefandbereavement@nlhealthservices.ca to get more information.
