This drop-in group is available to any residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, age 18+. This group aims to provide a safe space for individuals to meet and explore topics related to their mental health. Group topics can vary from week to week, based on the needs and interests of those present. This drop-in group can be attended as needed and sign up is ongoing. There is no obligation to commit to regular attendance for this group (however weekly attendance is also welcome). Facilitators are trained mental health clinicians from NL Health Services.

The Mental Health Drop-in Group will be offered on Tuesday’s – starting January 19th from 5:30 pm – 7 island time (5 pm – 6:30 Labrador).

The Mental Health Skills and Recovery Group is 10 week group that is intended to support folks who are wanting to gain more insight into their own experiences around mental health; and to learn skills to improve coping. This group provides a safe space for people to connect with others who are also experiencing mental health issues. Struggles can be related to things such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, self-esteem, intense emotions, or many other types of mental health symptoms. A diagnosis is not necessary.

The Mental Health Skills and Recovery Group will be offered on Thursday’s, starting April 16th – June 18th, 2024 (10 weeks) from 6 pm – 8:30 pm island time (5:30 pm – 8 pm Labrador). 1:30 pm: Depression Treatment Group


April 17, 2024

This group is for adults (ages 18+) who are experiencing symptoms of depression. This 10 week group draws upon Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to understand and treat symptoms of depression. This group explores the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and addresses each component of this interaction with skills and tools that are helpful in supporting recovery. It also looks at triggers and causes of depression and how to address these factors. This group is for people who are actively seeking to engage in the recovery process, and are willing to try to practice the skills taught in the group setting.

The Depression Treatment Group will be offered on Wednesday’s – starting starting April 17th – June 19th, 2024 (10 weeks) from 1:30 pm -4:00 island time (1:00 pm -3:30 Labrador).
