Psychiatric emergency services are available in any emergency department. The emergency department is staffed on a 24-hour basis. A health professional, such as a Doctor or Nurse, assess all patients who present with mental health and addiction concerns. The department also has access, when needed, to 24-hour, on-call coverage by a Psychiatrist or psychiatric staff.
