This group is for adults (ages 18+) who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety. This 10 week group draws upon Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to understand and treat symptoms of anxiety. This group explores the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviours and addresses each component of this interaction with skills and tools that are helpful in supporting recovery. It also looks at triggers and causes of anxiety and how to address these factors. This group is for people who are actively seeking to engage in the recovery process, and are willing to try to practice the skills taught in the group setting.

The Anxiety Treatment Group will be offered on Mondays starting April 15, 2024 (11 weeks as there is a holiday in the this span) and will be held at 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm island time (12:30 pm – 3:00 pm Labrador). This drop-in group is available to any residents of Newfoundland and Labrador, age 18+. This group aims to provide a safe space for individuals to meet and explore topics related to their mental health. Group topics can vary from week to week, based on the needs and interests of those present. This drop-in group can be attended as needed and sign up is ongoing. There is no obligation to commit to regular attendance for this group (however weekly attendance is also welcome). Facilitators are trained mental health clinicians from NL Health Services.

The Mental Health Drop-in Group will be offered on Tuesday’s – starting January 19th from 5:00 pm – 6:30 island time (4:30 pm – 6:00 Labrador).

The Mental Health Skills and Recovery Group is 10 week group that is intended to support folks who are wanting to gain more insight into their own experiences around mental health; and to learn skills to improve coping. This group provides a safe space for people to connect with others who are also experiencing mental health issues. Struggles can be related to things such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, self-esteem, intense emotions, or many other types of mental health symptoms. A diagnosis is not necessary.

The Compass Group is an early recovery addictions group for people who are seeking support and information as they begin their recovery journey. This group has four sessions. Individuals can attend just one, or all four. People can join at any time. This group provides a safe space to gain more information and insight into their addiction. It also provides information to support people to make changes and options for “next steps” to continue to recovery process.

This group will provide a safe space for people to join with others who are also seeking to improve their interpersonal connections. Struggles can be related to things such as communication, boundaries, identifying qualities of healthy and unhealthy relationships, and ways to increase positive social connections.
