Corner Brook Status of Women Council: They offer an affordable, supportive, temporary housing unit called Vesta Place for up to 4 women in a communal living setting. The housing coordinator works directly with the tenants to address issues contributing to homelessness and to connect with various community and government services. The St. John's Women's Centre is dedicated to providing FREE women-centered, community-based programs delivered within a safe, non-judgmental, trauma-informed, caring environment. Programs include: individual drop-in counselling, group counselling for people experiencing IPV (Intimate Partner Violence), clothing boutique, tea time, and other holistic and social groups.

They also provide a Managed Alcohol Programa pilot project harm reduction program delivered from a housing-first and trauma-informed approach. This program aims to decrease harms and barriers associated with chronic alcohol use delivered to those for whom other treatment options are not appropriate or available.
