This time-limited psychoeducation class is designed to help participants develop ways to cope with chronic pain and the difficult emotions, losses and social challenges that arise from its experience. Participants will be introduced to the concept of mindfulness and other evidence-based skills. Mindfulness is a skill in which benefit comes from practice. Signing up for this class means committing to practice daily for 8 weeks in order to experience benefit. Please note -This group is not long-term psychology support and not a substitute for other ongoing treatments and care.

Criteria:

*Age 18 and older
*Currently living in NL
*Currently experiencing chronic pain
*Ability and interest in learning mindfulness and other evidence-based skills for chronic pain
*Willingness to participate in online/virtual group (needing a device and internet)
*Willingness to abide by the online group agreement
*Willingness to practice daily for 8 weeks
*Willingness to attend all sessions

Please note – This group is not recommended for individuals who are experiencing
-current crisis
-current suicidal thinking,
-current severe symptoms of a mental illness that would make group learning very difficult
-current challenges managing aggression.
