When someone close to you dies by suicide, the grief can be overwhelming. If you have experienced a loss of a loved one, you may be interested in joining our Provincial Suicide Loss Support Group. Our group is facilitated by at least one mental health clinician and one person who has lived experience of loss by suicide. They will create a safe and supportive environment to help you process your grief.
Suicide grief support groups help suicide survivors come together to heal in their unique loss. By bringing everyone together, healing and companionship can begin. Many survivors of suicide suffer not only the grief and loss of their loved one but could also be victim to the stigma our society attaches to a death by suicide. Suicide survivors should not suffer alone, nor in silence. Being with others who have experienced a similar loss has proven to break isolation and create long-term networks of support.
If you are interested in registering, we ask that you be available for all 8 sessions of the group, as each session builds upon previous knowledge and connections. This group is for individuals ages 18+ who are in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. This group is available to anyone who has experienced the loss of a loved one through death by suicide, so the group may have various relationship experiences (such as parent, sibling, child, grandparent, friend, spouse, etc.).
The Provincial Suicide Loss Support Group will be offered on Wednesdays starting October 22nd, 2025 to December 10th, 2025 and will be held from 1:30 – 3:30 pm island time (1:00 – 3:00 pm in Labrador).
